Umphrey’s McGee was playing at Red Rocks when they got the news that their friend Jeff Austin had suffered a medical emergency. They took their time on stage that night to welcome their friends Turkuaz to come out and play a classic from The Beatles, “With A Little Help From My Friends”.

“Box Of Rain’s return to the live repertoire in 1986 after a 13 year absence was one of the most welcome re-births of a Dead song. Since its March 20, 1986 return in Hampton, VA, Box Of Rain was a song that could appear anywhere in the show, sometimes opening the second set (as it does here), sometimes an encore, occasionally ending a first set, random middle of the first set placement, and even an occasional show-opener.
